About the event
We've all had that moment when we ingest a substance, then immediately think, "whelp, there's no turning back now!" In this workshop, we will investigate the intersections of restrictive bondage play in correlation with the anticipation anxiety of a psychedelic journey.
So buckle up and join us on Saturday, September 24th from 3-5 PM at a secret studio in Bushwick Brooklyn. The exact location will be revealed in your ticket confirmation email. Please do not share it.
The workshop, led by bondage practitioner Masha, will provide a historical overview of Japanese-inspired rope bondage and will also cover rope negotiation and safety for new rope practitioners. We will make time to discuss the interplay of masculine and feminine energies in the rope exchange as well as rope as a somatic practice and internal inquiry, and a possible tool for psychedelic preparation and/or integration. The experiential portion of the class will focus on basic rope techniques that can be used as self ties or partnered ties.
- No prior experience needed
- One length of jute rope for class practice will be provided, but participants who have rope may bring their own.
- Capacity is capped at 20 people
Early Bird tickets of $25 are available for a limited time. We expect the seats to fill up fast, so try to get your tickets sooner than later.
If you have trouble affording the ticket, please email us at hello@thepsychedelicsisterhood.com.
If you buy a ticket and will not be able to attend, please let us know asap so we can notify someone from the waitlist.
Hope to see you there! ♡

Facilitator Bio: Masha is a rope artist and educator who first discovered Japanese-inspired rope bondage in 2018, and fell in love with rope as an exploration of emotional states and personal inner narratives, and a ritual of honoring the human form. She started as a rope bottom, but for the last 3 years has focused on learning the art of rope suspension, negotiation, and body handling, through study at rope conferences and classes both locally and in various other rope communities abroad, and online. She is also a life-long reproductive rights advocate and a certified nurse midwife with 25 years of experience guiding people through the life transitions of pregnancy and birth. She is currently a student of psychedelic facilitation and integration, and is fascinated by the overlap that exists in the facilitation of non-ordinary states of consciousness in labor and birth, the psychedelic medicine journey, and the rope journey.
**This workshop is a psychedelics-positive space. We invite you to practice compassion, empathy, and acceptance when participating, sharing, or holding space for others. Though we will not be ingesting psychedelics during this workshop, we will openly discuss psychedelics use and their effects.
