We hope you can join us during this expansive group journey that will be paired with a creative activity focused on opening the mind and cultivating connection. The group experience will be guided by Cardea's clinical therapist, Elizabeth Baum, and ceremonial sound practitioner, Johanna Verely.

What is Ketamine?

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that has historically been used medically for induction and maintenance of anesthesia. At anesthetic doses, ketamine induces a trance-like state, providing pain relief, sedation, and sometimes amnesia. Recently, the substance has been successfully used therapeutically for depression and has been widely researched for people with treatment-resistant depression and acute suicidality. It may also benefit patients with conditions such as PTSD, OCD, bipolar depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

Cardea says: “The therapeutic force of ketamine comes from its ability to help you open up a little  – or a lot, giving you the capacity to see the world differently and adding some nimbleness to your thoughts. This is why ketamine seems to help with particular forms of psychological suffering that have a habitual or repetitive element to them. It’s also why Ketamine can help people beyond their suffering, give them a chance to deeply contemplate life changes, get unstuck creatively, or reach moments of awakening.”

Check out what people are saying about their personal Ketamine experience on our Sisterhood Blog.
