About the event

The Psychedelic Sisterhood is excited to once again partner with Cardea Ketamine Space for an all womxn's group ceremony!

We will gather at Cardea - 511 Canal Street in Manhattan for a 3-hour group ketamine session on Saturday, September 23rd from 12:00 to 3:30 PM.

We hope you can join us during this expansive group journey that will be paired with a creative activity focused on opening the mind and cultivating connection. The group experience will be guided by Cardea's clinical therapist, Elizabeth Baum, and ceremonial sound practitioner, Johanna Verely.

What is Ketamine?

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that has historically been used medically for induction and maintenance of anesthesia. At anesthetic doses, ketamine induces a trance-like state, providing pain relief, sedation, and sometimes amnesia. Recently, the substance has been successfully used therapeutically for depression and has been widely researched for people with treatment-resistant depression and acute suicidality. It may also benefit patients with conditions such as PTSD, OCD, bipolar depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

Cardea says: “The therapeutic force of ketamine comes from its ability to help you open up a little  – or a lot, giving you the capacity to see the world differently and adding some nimbleness to your thoughts. This is why ketamine seems to help with particular forms of psychological suffering that have a habitual or repetitive element to them. It’s also why Ketamine can help people beyond their suffering, give them a chance to deeply contemplate life changes, get unstuck creatively, or reach moments of awakening.”

Total Exchange: $250 + Prescription

***Please arrive on time so that the group can participate in the full 3-hour session***

Registration Process:

  1. Register your information on the Psychedelic Sisterhood event page (this page).
  2. A clinician from Cardea’s staff will follow up shortly to schedule an introductory call that is most convenient for you. This is a time for Cardea to begin the process of getting to know you and understand your interest and intentions. They will share more information about their process and answer any questions you may have.
  3. You will then meet virtually with a doctor for an hour-long medical intake session to explore your medical and mental health history to ensure a safe and therapeutic process and to help determine if ketamine is right for you. The current schedule availability is on Mondays and Fridays.
  4. Once approved, Cardea staff will set up payment options with you. Then, you'll be sent a prescription via snail mail. This will take about 1 week.
  5. And that’s it!

When registering, please be sure to fill out the online form IN FULL so that we can get in touch with you for your screening. Be sure to complete the following:

  • Full Name
  • Email
